Arthur Eugene “Gene” White was born October 17, 1942, in Maud, to the late Henry Edward and Julia Ann White. He passed away Saturday, Aug. 3, in Norman, at the age of 81.
Gene grew up in the Wanette area, graduating from Wanette High School in 1960. After high school, he pursued a career in law enforcement. His many years of being a police officer included employments with the University of Oklahoma, Lexington Police Dept, and Pauls Valley Police Dept. His final years in law enforcement were spent with the Davis Police Dept, where he retired as Assistant Chief.
Survivors include one daughter, Donna Brunk of Norman; stepdaughter, Vickie Preast of Sulphur; six grandchildren; one sister, Jo Ann White and husband Andrew of Noble; and one brother-in-law, Tom Estes of Fairland.
In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by one sister, Thelma Estes.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, Aug. 10, at Hale’s Memorial Chapel, in Davis, with Reverend Tom Estes officiating.
