That’s how much additional money Murray County had to budget this fiscal year compared to the 2023-24 budget.
Murray County Commissioners and the Murray County Excise Board accepted and approved the 2024-25 final budget for the county at the regular weekly meeting Monday.
County office holders received everything requested in their budget requests presented earlier this fiscal year.
All requests were able to be fulfilled because of the huge increase in collections.
The total amount of funds for 2024-25 were reported at $6,816,272.65 compared to $4,946,904.26 last year.
These figures do not include funds officials receive from the one-cent county sales tax.
In other agenda action, the commissioners approved a 2024 Justice Assistance Grant Local Law Enforcement Program for the Sheriff’s office. The grant is for $10,000 and will be used for radios.
