The annual Murray County OHCE Quilt Show is scheduled for October 3-4 at the Murray County Expo. This year’s show is titled “A Cornucopia of Quilts” and will feature not only beautiful quilts but many handmade craft and sewn items on display made by the Feature Artists the Piece Makers Quilt Club.
There is no admission to attend and the doors will be open to the public at 9:00 a.m. beginning on Thursday, Oct. 3 and remaining open until that evening at 7:00 p.m.
The lunch menu for Thursday is chili/hot dogs with all the trimmings, baked beans, chips, drink and dessert for $8 and will be served from 11:00-1:00.
Why not come from work and enjoy the show while taking advantage of a special spaghetti supper that will be available the evening of October 3rd from 5:00 to 7:00 and can be served for dine-in or carry out. The cost for the spaghetti, garlic bread, salad and dessert is $8 for an adult and $5 for a child. This change was added this year in an effort to make it possible for those coming from work to be able to enjoy the show without worries of preparing dinner.
Friday, the show will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will feature a pork BBQ sandwich lunch. The menu for the day is pulled pork BBQ sandwich, beans, coleslaw and dessert for $10 with the option to dine-in or carry out.
The show is open to anyone wanting to exhibit, you do not have to be a county resident. Quilts can be entered on Tuesday, Oct. 1 from 3:00-7:00 pm and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
A free coffee bar will be available and several vendors will be set up with an assortment of goods for sale ranging from fabrics and sewing notions and patterns to Amish canned goods to kitchen items.

This year everyone is invited to share their “quilt that tells a story”. Quilts can be of any age, style, or size and need to be accompanied by a story that is meaningful to the owner. Quilts should be brought anytime on Tuesday or Wednesday.
