DavidAllen Moore was born on May 10, 1942, in Stratford, to Henry Allen and Bertha (Summers) Moore. He passed away on Saturday, Oct. 12, in Ada, at the age of 82 years, five months, and two days.
David lived most of his life in the Stratford-Hickory-Roff areas, graduating from Sulphur High School.
After graduation, he began working in maintenance at the Sulphur Veterans Center, where he worked until his retirement in 1990.
He and Gloria McComas were married on March 5, 1982, in Hickory.
David served in the Army National Guard for 29 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Donald Moore; brother-in-law, Byron Brakhage; step-children, Jarl Boyd, Jeanine Boyd, and Russell Hudson.
He is survived by a son, Denny Boyd; two brothers and their spouses, Danny and Susan Moore, Darrell and Diana Moore; three sisters and their spouses, Kathy and Richard Reynen, Alpha and Paul Welch, Myrt Brakhage, and by several grandchildren; great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m, Friday, Oct. 18, at the Chapel of Crossway Baptist Church with Darrell Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur under the direction of DeArman Funeral Home in Sulphur.
Viewing will be from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Thursday at Crossway Baptist Church.
