County Extension Office Welcomes New Ag Educator

The Murray County OSU Extension Service announced the arrival of a new Ag Educator, Ryan Hicks, who joined the staff November 11, coming to the county from the Ardmore area. He is filling the position vacated by John Holman after his retirement in July of this year.

The Murray County OSU Extension Service announced the arrival of a new Ag Educator, Ryan Hicks, who joined the staff November 11, coming to the county from the Ardmore area. He is filling the position vacated by John Holman after his retirement in July of this year.

Hicks is a graduate of East Central University with a master’s certificate in grassland management from Oklahoma State University. His prior work experiences have included working for the Noble Foundation, City planner for the city of Ardmore and work as a business analyst for the Denton Municipal Electric Company of Denton, Texas.

His family consists of his two sons, Kael and Elijah, and his wife, Raven, who teaches in the Plainview School system.

Hicks enjoys hunting, fishing and being a dad and his hobbies include woodworking and working on his acreage.

Hicks said he is excited to begin his career in Murray County. “I am excited for this opportunity and hope my passion for agriculture and all things associated with it will be useful and helpful to the citizens of the county. I enjoy sharing knowledge and helping others and I look forward to meeting and working with everyone.”

The Murray County Extension staff this week invited everyone to drop by and welcome Hicks. The office is located on the Expo grounds or give him a call at 622-3016
