Bariatric Support Group Meets Twice Monthly

Murray County Bariatric Support Group will meet on the second Thursday and the last Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m. at the Central Church, which is located on Highway 7 and Shepherd of the Hills Lane. Anyone is welcome to attend. For more information contact Lu Ann Mulligan at (405) 401-6025.

Celebrate Recovery Meetings Each Monday

Celebrate Recovery meetings are held every Monday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Crossway campus chapel located at 2801 West Broadway. This is a faith based Twelve Step, Eight Principle recovery program for anyone with hurts, habits, and hang-ups. For more information contact Chris Caldwell at 580-618-5364.

Epilepsy Support Group Meets Monthly

A mutual support group for those dealing with seizures and or epilepsy will be held at Arbuckle Memorial Hospital in the Heritage room on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. For more information contact Lori L. Eddy at (580) 320-3202. This support group is sponsored by the Epilepsy Association of the Sooner State.

Sulphur Senior Citizens Activities

All senior citizens are invited to the Senior Citizens Center located at 1300 W. Lindsey each day for various activities. The center offers dominoes, 8 ball pool, cards, rummikub, and cards on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Bingo is held every Thursday at 4:00 p.m. Pot Luck dinner is held the last Saturday of each month.

Artists Meet Monthly

Artists of the Arbuckles meet the second Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. .

The group sponsors annual Art, Photography and Youth shows and is open to Artists of all types, Photographers, and Art Lovers, everyone is welcome.

The gallery is located at 330 west Muskogee in Sulphur. It is open on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. For information please call Edna Wiser at 580-622-3214.

Disabled Veterans Meets Monthly

The Disabled American Veterans Chapter 30 will meet the first Saturday of the month at 9:30 a.m. at the Veterans Center located at 1015 South Commerce in Ardmore. For more information call (580) 319-5302.

Piecemakers Quilting Club Meets Monthly

Piecemakers Quilting Club meets at 11:00 a.m. weekly on Wednesday at the Murray County Expo Center, S.H. 7, west of Sulphur. For more information visit our Facebook page “Piecemakers Quilt Group.”

Community Food Pantry Open

The Community Food Pantry at the Cornerstone Methodist Church, West 14th and Williams Dr., will be open on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

Oak Grove Senior Lunch Served Wednesdays

The Oak Grove senior citizens lunch is served every Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at the Oak Grove Senior Citizens Center.

Nutrition Center Open Monday Through Friday

The Murray County Nutrition Center is open Monday through Friday 8:00am to 2:00 p.m., except Holidays. Activities include: Bingo on Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:20 a.m., exercises Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Birthdays are celebrated monthly. Nutrition classes are offered and blood pressure is taken monthly by a home health provider. Open to all citizens 60 years and older. We provide lunch at no cost for seniors. We do accept donations. The Nutrition Center is located at 728 Cambridge Drive beside the Arbuckle Memorial Hospital and the Health Department.

Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) To Be Distributed Locally The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) works to improve the health of low-income elderly persons by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA Foods. Commodity boxes are distributed 9-11 a.m. the Friday following the second Tuesday of each month at CornerstoneMethodist Church, West 14th and Williams Dr. Recipients must meet income eligibility requirements, reside in Murray County, and be at least 60 years of age.

Choir Group Practice Times

SaSo Choir, a 55 plus singing group from all church denominations, has set practice times for Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m. at Crossway First Baptist Church in the choir room. Feel free to come sing with the group.

Sliding And Riding Bible Study Meets Sunday

The Sliding And Riding Bible Study group meets every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at the Sulphur Livestock Market, 1542 U.S. Hwy. 177 north. Everyone is welcome to attend.

SOLS Branches Closed Friday, December 6

Heart 2 Heart To Meet Jan. 16

Heart 2Heart invites all widows to join us for our Monthly luncheon. We provide our widows with delicious food, a speaker, entertainment, and a time to make new friends. This event is held at Crossway Church fellowship hall.

The next meeting will be held from 11:00 a.m. —1:00 p.m. January 16, 2025.

Our speaker will be Karen Chaffin from Ardmore. She will speak about “Focusing on God”. We will also have ballet dancers.

We will accept offerings and baby items for the Hope Pregnancy Center. We also offer Valet parking to assist you.

The luncheon is free to all widows who would like to attend.
