Murray County Commissioners announced bids will be opened Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the Commissioner’s boardroom for the court house renovation.
In other action during the Monday meeting of the group, members approved a CDBG Environmental Review and Release of Funds for a waterline project on S.H. 7 from S.H. 110 to North Chickasaw Trail. The board also approved for Murray County RWD #1 to advertise fro the project with bids to be opened in a County Commissioner’s meeting. Bids for the project are expected to go out mid-January according to the grant writer.
The project will consist of a $600,000.00 CDBG grant with matching funds of approximately $700,000.00 by the Rural Water District. As a requirement for the grant, the board approved a Fair Housing Resolution.
Board members awarded REAP grants from SODA in the amount of $25,000 for each commissioner district as well as $70,000 for the Joy Fire Department.
District 3 Commissioner Kent McKinley was absent at the meeting.
