Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Tom Cole (OK-04) issued the following statement after taking the oath of office and being sworn in for the 119th Congress, where he will continue his leadership as Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee: “‘It’s morning again in America,’ as Reagan once said. With that same spirit of optimism, the American people gave us a mandate of change, and we will move into a new Congress where our America First commitment will help us build a safer, stronger, and more prosperous nation. I’m honored to continue working beside my colleagues, leadership, and appropriators in this pursuit as Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee.
“Now, more than ever, it’s critical for us to provide a strong fiscal framework. Republicans are united behind effective governance, safeguarding hard-earned tax dollars, and implementing solutions that unlock our nation’s full potential. As I have been, I’m fully devoted to strong conservative principles as we work to fulfill our Article I duties.
“By concentrating on the challenges and opportunities ahead of us, I see progress that will herald us into the golden years of America. One where stagnation will be replaced by growth, submissive governance will be transformed into bold leadership, and the dreams of everyday Americans will once again feel within reach.
“I look forward to working with President Trump and Republican leadership to deliver on the promises resoundingly demanded from people across the country,” said Congressman Cole.
