A trucker escaped injury early last Tuesday after his rig had mechanical failure as he was headed west on Oklahoma Street into Sulphur, according to Sulphur police officials. Unable to stop at the intersection of U.S. 177 and S.H. 7, the rig continued west toward the low-water bridge on Oklahoma St. There, the rig went up the hill west of the bridge and that’s where the trailer separated from the truck, overturning partially into Rock Creek.
In the photo above, crews from several wrecker services begin to tie onto the trailer, at right. The road was shut down for several hours while crews cleared the scene.
