Rogers Becomes Longest Serving Sheriff In County History
The Murray County Sheriff made county history last Friday when he was sworn in for his fifth elected term. No other sheriff in this county has ever been elected to five terms in office.
Associate District Judge Mark Melton delivered the oath of office to Sheriff Darin Rogers as well as County Clerk Jill Hall and Murray County Commissioner District 2, Colt Williams last Friday.
Hall is beginning her third term as county clerk, but has more than 31 years experience in the county clerk’s office. She began her career in the office under former Clerk David Thompson.
Williams is also beginning his third elected term and ninth year in the office.
Murray County Court Clerk, Jodi Jennings, was also re-elected but was absent for the ceremony.
