The filing period for three positions on the Murray County Fairboard was announced last week at a meeting of the county commissioners.
The five-day filing period has been set for Monday, Jan. 22 through Friday, Jan 26. Interested office seekers may file their intentions of candidacy at the Murray County Courthouse Annex building from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on each of the five days.
Only registered voters of Murray County may file for the offices. Candidates filing must reside in the commissioner’s district from which they are seeking office.
Up for election this year are one position from each of the three commissioner’s districts.
The incumbents include: Sidney Donaho (District 1), Larry Keenan (District 2), and Steve Ratchford (District 3).
If an election is needed, it will be held Tuesday, Feb. 13 in the commissioners’ offices.
