Bulldogs Dominate Dibble Demon Powerlifting Meet; Win 2nd Consecutive Team Victory
The Sulphur Bulldogs won their second consecutive powerlifting tournament in a meet at Dibble last weekend as they set their sights on another state title. The Dogs scored 222 team points in the meet and beat their nearest challenger, Cushing, by 83 points.
All total, 11 Sulphur individuals won place medals with four winning first place.
The four winners included freshman Manuel Gonzales (123), senior Austin Garrett (181), senior Nash Williamson (220) and junior Connor Sullivan (275).
Other place winners included sophomore Daniel Gonzales (123) 2nd, sophomore JoJo Gray (181) 3rd, junior Jason Gleason (220), 3rd, senior Xavier Longoria (157) 4th, junior Trenton Whitehead (181), 4th, sophomore AJ Gordon (Hwt.) 4th, and Caden Frost (275) 5th.
The Bulldogs will gunning for an unprecedented eighth consecutive state title next month.
