The Southern Oklahoma Library System (SOLS) recently welcomed Ginger Britt as the new Sulphur Branch Manager for Parker Memorial Library.
Britt graduated from East Central University with a degree in English Education. Britt has taught for over 21 years, including 16 years in high school and five years in elementary school. Throughout Britt’s career, she has taught in Madill, Purcell, Davis, and Mill Creek. At Davis, Britt had the privilege of serving as the Key Club sponsor for several years.
Britt attends Crossway Church and enjoys spending time with her cows. Britt’s hobbies include DIY projects, hiking, reading, and playing with her granddaughters. Britt also wants to develop her gardening skills, but unfortunately, many of her garden plants tend to give up before she has the chance to harvest them.
“Parker Memorial Library has held a special place in my heart since I joined the Sulphur Community over 30 years ago,” said Britt. “The library gave me a place to research and study as a young college student, a place to connect with other parents when my children were young, and a place to gather with friends over crafts or books. Today our library continues to offer access to a variety of services and programs that can equip members of the community to grow into healthier and happier citizens. I am excited to serve my home community and provide a welcoming space to learn, grow, and connect.”
For more information, you can contact the Parker Memorial Library at (580) 634-2315 or visit the library at 500 West Broadway in Sulphur. Business hours are Monday - Thursday 11:30 AM – 5:30 PM, Fridays 11:30AM – 2:30 PM, and Saturdays 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM. The Parker Memorial Library is a branch of the Southern Oklahoma Library System.
The Southern Oklahoma Library System was named Oklahoma Library of the Year in 2024!
