Three Sulphur wrestlers brought home medals from the State Championship at State Fairground Arena in Oklahoma City.
Baer Webb placed second, Maddax Mobly placed third, and Landon Jones placed fourth.
Webb (165) lost the championship to Eli Probst of Tuttle in a 4-2 decision. In the earlier rounds, he won by technical fall over Brelynn Macomb of Fort Gibson in 4:48, and then beat Charlie Shafer of Cache by decision, 4-2 in the semifinals.
In the quarterfinals, Mobly (157) won by decision over Kole Parker of Tuttle, 7-3. Mobly then lost to Cole Mayfield of Sallisaw due to a technical fall in 3:41. On the other side of the bracket, Mobley pinned Tristan Buchanan in 1:33 before beating Walker Johnson of Harrah by major default 14-4.
Jones (120) began and ended the tournament with losses to Morgan Duke of Sallisaw. In the quarterfinals, Jones lost by an 8-1 decision against Duke. Jones then won a major decision against Marshal Mansfield of Plainview, 16-2 and won by technical default in 2:44 against Triston Barnes of Madill. Jones lost the third place

Gideon Peterson (285) was pinned by Titan Hix of Locust Grove in the quarterfinals. In the consolation bracket, Peterson then won by default in a tiebreaker period against Aiden Willard of Weatherford, 3-2, and was pinned by Tyrus Bradley of Tuttle in 2:39. Noah Heitland (113) lost a 9-8 decision to Owen Collier of Cushing. Heitland then lost by decision again to Noah Henderson of Harrah, 8-4.
Landy Dearman (132) lost by decision to Javier Ortiz of Poteau, 5-3. Dearman was then pinned by Cash Stapleton of Cushing in 2:00.
On Thursday, Jonah Cole (126) lost a wrestle-in match against David Farmer of Fort Gibson, 10-4.
GIRLS WRESTLING
In Class 5A-140, Bintlee Burch fell one match short of the third place match in the State Tournament in Oklahoma City.
Friday began with the quarterfinals. Burch was pinned by Macy Gorczynski from Salina in 2:56. In the first round of the consolation bracket, Burch pinned Hope Grove from Lexington/ Purcell in 1:24.
Then, eventual third-place winner Adrianna Chronister of Stilwell pinned Burch in 2:00.
