MARIJUANA GROW FACILITY
64 Agents From Federal, State And Local Law Enforcement Agencies Join In Taking Down Large Operation
After months of investigation, a multi-agency task force involving 64 agents swooped in and shut down a large marijuana grow operation last Thursday in perhaps the largest raid in county history, officials said.
The raid took place at the Davis Natural Products, Inc. facility about 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 6 as agents moved in with guns drawn. The facility is located 5015 S.H. 7, between Sulphur and Davis, the site of a former manufacturing facility.
According to Murray County Sheriff Darin Rogers, whose office assisted in the operation, a total of 31,646 marijuana plants and 1,768 pounds of processed marijuana were confiscated.
Murray County commissioners aided in the operation by furnishing four dump trucks to haul the plants to an undisclosed location for burning, said Undersheriff Ben Flowers. The trucks, he said, made 13 round trips to complete the operation.
Nine workers inside the building and adjoining buildings were detained, but no arrests have been made, according to Flowers.
The raid took place after the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN), the lead agency in the raid, discovered violations outside the scope of the firm’s license, according to Sheriff Rogers.
State Highway 7 was shut down briefly as agents moved in to conduct the operation, said Flowers.
Assisting OBN in the shutdown operation were agents from U.S. Homeland Security, Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Agency (OMMA), the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), and the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
