Dogs Win 8th State Lifting Title

Eight In A Row And Still Going Strong

EL RENO - Sulphur Bulldog powerlifting won the Large School State Championship, their eighth consecutive title.

The Bulldogs earned a total of 124 points and beat Pauls Valley who scored 81.

Connor Sullivan in the 275 division won with the highest total lift of the day in any division, a total of 1,650. He placed first in every event, lifting 650 in squat, 365 on the bench and 635 in deadlift.

Nash Williamson lifted a total 1525 to win the 220 division. He placed first in both squat lift with 625 and in deadlift with 585. He also placed fifth in the bench lift.

Austin Garrett lifted a total of 1420 in the 181 division for second place. He placed second in both squat and bench and placed third in deadlift.

In the 242 division, Jason Gleason placed second lifting a total of 1570. His 645-deadlift placed him first in the division, and he also earned second in squat and third in bench.

Xavier Osornio earned fourth place in the 157 division for lifting 1140 overall.

In the 132 division, Daniel Gonzalez placed sixth overall, lifting a total of 880.

AJ Gordon placed seventh in the Heavyweight division and placed fourth with his 565 squat.

Trenton Whitehead placed tenth in the 181 division, lifting 1155.

In the 198 division, Jo Jo Gray placed tenth lifting 1205, including a fifth place bench lift of 295.

Manuel Gonzalez in the 123 division earned 3 points for his bench of 205.

In the 168 division, Cooper Cole earned a point for a fifthplace squat lift of 470.

Also lifting at the state meet was Dylan Gleason (168).

The Bulldog’s Nash Williamson lifts his way to back-to-back individual state championships in powerlifting action last week at 220 pounds.

Sulphur’s Connor Sullivan set a new state record for total lift in last week’s state championships at El Reno. He also was an individual title in the 275-pound category
