A portion of West 2nd Street in downtown Sulphur, above, was closed recently as bricks continue to fall from the tornado-ravaged Hassen Building. Foot traffic in that portion of the downtown area, from Muskogee to near Vinita Street to the north, and from West 2nd Street to West 3rd Street on the north side of the street, is also closed due to the hazard.
Also, the westbound lane of Muskogee Street from West 2nd to West 5th is down to mostly one lane due to ongoing storm clean-up.
The Hassen building was among a number of buildings between West 1st and West 5th Street that were either destroyed or severely damaged in the April 27 tornado.
