Lady Bulldog Senior Was Introduced To The Game At Age 8 And Has Excelled Ever Since
Paisley Eason, a senior at Sulphur High School, signed last Thursday to play golf at Oklahoma Baptist University. Eason, who has played for Sulphur since the 7th grade, began playing golf at 8 years old. She soon found that she had a natural gift and fell in love with the sport.
She soon began playing tournaments year-round for the South Central Oklahoma Jr. PGA, North Texas Jr. PGA and the Oklahoma Junior Golf Tour. After continued success, she began to dream of getting to play golf in college.
After visiting many colleges over the last year and receiving multiple offers from schools across the country, she said nothing felt right. Eason said, “My family and I prayed that the right offer would come along and that it would feel like somewhere I could call my second home. After visiting OBU and Coach Manlapig, it felt like that was where I was supposed to be and an answered prayer.” Eason will now get to make the dream of playing in college a reality.
Eason has had an extremely successful high school golf career. The girls golf team has qualified for the state tournament for the last three years and they earned the Regional Champion title last year. At the 2023 state tournament, Paisley placed 8th. Last year, she had a more successful season, and ended the season as the Regional Champion and State Runner-up.
This year, Eason is off to a great start as well. So far, she has earned two 1st place finishes, 3rd place and 6th place. Eason hopes to qualify again for state this year and to be able to top last year’s state tournament finish, by ending her high school career as a state champion.
