Murray County Junior Livestock Show Set Feb. 21

The 2024 Murray County junior Livestock will be held February 20-26 at the Murray County Expo Center.

Approximately 139 animals have been nominated by 56 students, for this year’s event. Exhibitors will check in their entries on Tuesday evening, February 20 beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Entries include 33 goats, 17 sheep, 14 dairy goats, 47 swine, 24 beef and 4 dairy heifers.

Judging of all the entries will be held on Wednesday, February 21 starting at 9:00 a.m.

The order of judging will be meat goats, sheep, dairy goats, gilts, barrows, dairy cattle and beef.

On Thursday all exhibitors will report to expo center at 3:30 p.m. for clean up.

Scholarship interviews will be held on Saturday at the expo center beginning at 9:00 a.m.

On Monday, February 26, starting at 5:30 p.m. the community can free hamburgers followed by the show dedication ceremony at 6:00 p.m.

This year’s livestock show if dedicated to long-time OSU Extension 4-H program assistant, Sandra McKinley.

Sandra spent more than 23 year’s serving the youth of Murray County.

Following the show dedication the bonus auction will start.
