The Dogs beat Marietta 53-38 last Tuesday and won 70-42 at Dickson on Friday.

“We got two good wins over conference teams,” said Sulphur head coach Grant Bates. “I like how we have started to change our trajectory. It’s just a testament to the players continuing to work hard and become more of a team game in and game out.”

Sulphur was at Lone Grove on Tuesday and will wrap up the regular season at Kingston on Friday.

The Dogs will be on the road for districts at Plainview on Feb. 16.

But the Dogs outscored Marietta 16-2 in the final quarter, pulling away and coasting to victory.

“Marietta has been playing a lot better and they gave us some trouble through the first three quarters,” said Bates. “I was pleased with how we closed the game and were able to execute in-game adjustments.”
