The Murray County Commissioners and the Murray County Emergency Management presented LifeVac kits to the Murray County Sheriff’s Department at their weekly meeting held last Tuesday.

The kits were purchased by a grant from the Emergency Management with additional funds provided by the commissioners. The plan is to place the kits in the vehicles of all the first responders in the county including law enforcement and fire departments.

The apparatus is designed for use on both adults and children in choking situations.

The board approved a Resolution for the Hazard Mitigation Plan Update for 2024-2029. The plan has been approved by FEMA and a resolution will be sent for approval to all other entities involved in the plan which includes the City of Sulphur, Sulphur Schools, Oklahoma School for the Deaf, Hickory and Dougherty A bid for new ceiling tiles for the Murray County jail was approved in the amount of $7,700.00.

In final action, the members approved a Resolution for Declaration of Surplus and Disposing of Equipment for the Murray County Treasurer’s office.

All three commissioners were present at the meeting.
