Dogs Win Two Of Three In Baseball Action

Sulphur had another good week on the diamond, winning two of three games.

The Dogs (6-5) won over Madill for the second straight day last Tuesday, beating the Wildcats 6-1.

Sulphur followed that up with a 6-4 win over Lone Grove.

The Dogs are in Broken Bow for a tournament this week and opened play with a 4-1 loss against Fort Gibson.

In the win over Madill, Jett Runyan pitched a gem for the Dogs.

He allowed just four hits and one earned run over 6.1 innings.

Runyan struck out seven and walked just one.

Briar Davenport had a 2-run double, while Cash Matlack was also 2-for-3 with a double.

Sulphur had 10 hits in the win. The Dogs led 3-0 through five innings before scoring three in the 6th.

Sulphur 6, Lone Grove 4 A big 2nd inning was enough to propel Sulphur past Lone Grove last week.

Sulphur scored six runs in the top of the 2nd to pull ahead and hold on.

Colten Cole was 3-for-4 with an RBI double, while Kaden Seitz was 2-for-4 and also had an RBI double.

Eathin Kennedy pitched three innings, allowing just one run. He also drove in two at the plate.

Fort Gibson 4, Sulphur 1 Sulphur managed just three hits in the loss on Monday to Fort Gibson.

The Dogs took a 1-0 lead early but Fort Gibson scored two in the top of the 3rd and the Tigers added another run in the top of the 4th.

Davenport. Maddax Mobly and Haden Raymo each singled for Sulphur in the loss.

Traber Sartors took the loss for Sulphur, allowing three runs in three innings.

Drake Wood and Seitz combined to pitch four innings of relief, allowing just one run.
