Sulphur picked up two big wins last week, beating Madill 11-3 last Monday and Marietta 12-0 last Tuesday.

“We only got to play Monday and Tuesday but we played very well,” said Sulphur head coach Heath Gilbert. “We really out matched our opponents.”

In the win over Madill, Sulphur scored six runs in the 2nd inning and four more in the 4th to put the Wildcats away.

Sulphur had 15 hits in the win and was led by Gracie Ratchford, who finished 2-for-3 with four RBIs.

Cheyenne Ruth was also 2-for-3 with an RBI double, while Sanford and Kinzi Adkison were also 2-for-3, each finishing with a triple and two RBIs in the win. Kinsley Rochelle also had two hits in the win.

“The wind was blowing in pretty hard both days and the girls stayed focused and hit hard ground balls and line drives,” Gilbert said. “Both days the bats came alive early and we scored quick.”

In Tuesday’s win, Sulphur made quick work of the Indians.

Sulphur scored four in the first and seven in the 3rd to blow Marietta out.

Brylie Sanford, Ruth, Ratchford, Adkison and Rolin each doubled for Sulphur in the win.

Sanford allowed just one hit and struck out three in the win.

“Our defense and pitching normally struggle on windy days but we really played great and got the job done,” said Gilbert.
