Statewide election activity officially begins at :008 a.m. Wednesday, April 3rd, when the candidate filing period opens, the Secretary of the Murray County Election Board said today.
Candidates for state offices file with the Secretary of the State Election Board. Candidates for county offices file with the Secretary of the County Election Board.
Murray County Election Board Secretary Rhonda Summers said the following offices are expected to be filled this year:
•Murray County Clerk
•Murray County Court Clerk
•Murray County Sheriff
•Murray County Commissioner No. 2 Filing forms and information for county offices may be obtained by contacting the Murray County Election Board at 580622-3800. The Murray County Election Board is located at 703 W. 11th, Sulphur and is open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Filing packets for all offices are also available for download on the State Election Board’s website at oklahoma.gov/elections.
The filing period closes at 5:00 p.m. Friday, April 5.
