Sulphur 4, Durant 0
Sulphur finally pushed some runs across late and also got an outstanding outing on the mound from Jett Runyan to snap a 6-game losing streak last Thursday at Durant.
Runyan threw a complete game shutout, allowing just three hits and striking out seven hitters.
The Dogs led 1-0 in the 1st after Cash Matlack drove in Briar Davenport on an RBI groundout.
And though the Dogs would bang out 12 hits in the win, Sulphur could not add to its lead until late in the game.
But that changed in the top of the 7th.
Davenport, Matlack and Maddax Mobly each reached on a single to start the inning.
Colten Cole delivered for Sulphur, driving in Mobly and Davenport to make it 3-0.
After an Eathin Kennedy walk and a Drake Wood bunt single, the Dogs were in business again.
Bridge Barrett smoked a single to left, scoring Noah Heitland, who entered the game as a pinch-runner for Cole to make it 4-0.
Mobly and Davenport were each 3-for-4 in the win.
Sulphur 15, Lindsay 2
The Dogs scored early and often in Friday’s blowout win at Lindsay, as Sulphur had three different five-run innings.
Sulphur scored five in each of the 1st, 3rd and 4th innings to cruise past the Leopards.
Matlack was 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs, while Jax Jackson finished the game 2-for-2 with three RBIs.
Mobly was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two steals in the win. Barrett pitched three innings, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out three to get the win.
Sulphur 9, Kingston 4
Another big inning late proved to be the difference for Sulphur on Monday evening, as the Dogs pulled away from Kingston on the road.
With Sulphur clinging to a 5-4 lead, the Dogs delivered again late. In the top of the 6th, the bases were loaded up again for Cole, after Jackson was hit by a pitch, Davenport singled and Mobly walked.
And with two outs, the big sophomore came through, ripping a double to left to score Jackson and Davenport, pushing the lead to 7-4. Sulphur scored its final two runs thanks to patience at the plate, as Kennedy, Wood and Barrett walked, while Mobly scored on a passed ball, as well.
Sulphur scored four runs in the top of the 2nd to jump out to an early 4-0 lead before Kingston responded with two runs in the 3rd.
After Sulphur scored again in the 4th to make it 5-2, Kingston added two more in the bottom half of the 5th.
Cole was 4-for-5 with two doubles and four RBIs in the win. Davenport was 3-for-5 with two runs scored.
