The Sulphur Board of Education met in a special meeting on Monday at 12:00 noon to approve the sale of next installment of the General Obligation Building Bonds.
The board awarded the bond sale of $1,2800,000 to UMB Bank of Kansas City at a rate of 5.447714 per cent.
The board received bids from five entities.
The bonds are sold in annual installments allowing for property taxes to have slight increases and not going up all at one time.
In other board action, members approved the employment of Chad Walker as a high school teacher and girls basketball coach.
Walker will take over the coaching duties from long-time girl’s coach, Toby Todd.
Members also approved adding Madison Schwake to the substitute list and accepted the resignation of Skye Norman.
