Marshall McMurtry, 79, of Chandler, TX, passed away on April 23, 2024. Born on April 10, 1945, in Buffalo, NY, to the late Forrest and Lois McMurtry, he was a pillar of love and strength in his community.
A proud graduate of Sulphur High’s class of 1963, Marshall’s passion for agriculture was evident through his active involvement in the Future Farmers of America (FFA) and his lifelong dedication to raising quality show pigs.
Marshall’s memory is cherished by his loving sons, Timmy Sherman, and Shane McMurtry; his brother, Charlie McMurtry and wife Melanie; and his sisters, Bonnie Foster (and husband Ray) and Betty Collins. His spirited legacy will live on in the stories and memories shared by family and friends.
Marshall found great joy in his roots and will be laid to rest in Sulphur, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, family dedication, and a love of the land that will not be forgotten.
