Sylvia Lee (Clary) Pittman, born on September 25, 1940, in Sulphur, to Acle Lee and Florene (Bullard) Clary, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024, in Sulphur, at the age of 83.
Sylvia graduated from Sulphur High School in 1960 and lived most of her life in the Sulphur area. She married Dean Pittman in 1960 in Mill Creek, who preceded her in death. Sylvia dedicated many years to her work at Green’s Department Store and the Snak Shak as a salesclerk. She was also a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church in Sulphur.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dean Pittman, and her parents, Acle and Florene Clary.
Sylvia is survived by her loving family, including her daughters, Jami Pittman Johnson and husband Billy of Sulphur, and Teresa Marie Pittman of Sulphur; her son, James Kenneth Pittman of Sulphur; and her four grandchildren, Jessica Willcox, Nathon Reeves, Zack Northcutt, and Alexxis Pittman; three great grandchildren; three brothers, David Clary and wife Evelyn, Alan Clary and special friend, Caroline Kaserman, Billy Clary and wife Jenene; four sisters, Kay Grinstead and husband Bobby, Duan Payne and husband Lee, Allene Parrish and husband Elmer and Linda Walton and husband John and a host of other family and friends.
Sylvia’s presence, love, and dedication to her family and community will be deeply missed. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Calvary Baptist Church in Sulphur with Reverend Tom Hefley officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 26 at the Crossway Baptist Church Chapel in Sulphur.
