Murray County Commissioners and other county offices and entities will experience an increase in their portion of the county one-cent sales tax. Collections for the 2024 year were up more than $70,000 over last year’s collections, according to county officials.
The county actually receives two cents in sales taxes, but one cent is a permanent sales tax designated to Arbuckle Memorial Hospital.
Approximately 32 entities receive a portion of the one-cent county tax.
Most of the entities have carry over balances from previous years making the total sales tax available for appropriation for 2025 at $6,615,480.07.
In other action, board members approved the sales tax figures as presented as well as a Resolution.
In other agenda action, members approved the following:
•Disaster Recovery Plans for County Offices for FY 24-25;
•Master Services and/or License Agreement between DataScout LLC and Murray County Assessor’s Office; Software Supplemental Agreement between Murray County Assessor and LandMark GSI;
•Resolution for Disposing of Equipment for County Clerk’s Office; and
•Designating requisitioning agents and receiving agents for the Murray County Health Department.
Members table an item on maintenance repairs at the Expo Center until next week.
All three commissioners were present at the meeting.
