Bobby Derrell “Bob” Lee

Graveside services for Bobby Derrell “Bob” Lee will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2024, at the Oaklawn Cemetery, in Sulphur with Pastor Willard McCartney, Jr., officiating.

Bob was born July 19, 1950, in Sulphur, to the late Henry David and Vernie (Knight) Lee. He passed peacefully, at his home, on Saturday, Dec.7, 2024, at the age of 74. Bob and the former Ms. Angelia L. “Angie” Pettitt were married on March 23, 1973, in Sulphur. This union was blessed with three children, Dianna, Bobby and Shawn.

Bob grew up in the Sulphur area, graduating from Sulphur High School, Class of 1968. After high school, he spent several years working for Spindle Wholesale Company, prior to working with his brother Raymond for the Tipton Construction Company. He later spent several years working for Walmart, prior to owning and operating Lee Graffiti for 20 years.

Bob was very much into the arts. Whether it was listening to and playing music, doing graphic designs, or doing wood works, his talent was always in line with his love for the arts. Bob, along with his brother Raymond and childhood friend Cliff Trent, were the founding members of the “Country High Band”, which entertained throughout the state for many years. In addition to art, Bob was an avid outdoorsman obsessed with deer hunting. He anxiously awaited his yearly trip to deer camp with his family and friends.

Survivors include his loving wife, Angie; one daughter, Dianna Handy and husband John; two sons, Bobby Lee and wife Melissa and Shawn Lee and wife Kristi; nine grandchildren, Brynlee, Emilee, Paige, Aubree, Breindel, Coy, Brason, Kara and Colton; one great granddaughter, Shawnna; one sister, Betty Runyan; one brother, Monroe Lee and wife Jan; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by one sister, Allene Blackburn; and four brothers, JB Lee, Arlin “Tuffy” Lee, George Lee, and Raymond Lee.

Viewing and visitation for family and friends were held Tuesday, December 10, at Hale’s Funeral Home in Sulphur.
