Clifford Eugene “Cliff” Cops, Jr.
To know Cliff is to love Cliff. He graduated a proud Capital Hill Redskin, class of 1970. He joined the Air Force Reserves right after high school, where he led crews to load and offload military cargo on DC-3’s. While in the Reserves he also worked for the City of Oklahoma City reading water meters before joining the Oklahoma City Fire Department in 1973. He would go onto serve the citizens for 25 years before retiring in 1998. He loved his time with his fire department brothers, and we all heard the stories he had to tell! With each story he told (some of them repeatedly) one could know his pride for working with Oklahoma City’s finest!
Shortly after his retirement he met Kym, who would become the love of his life. They spent the next 22 years creating a wonderful life together.
He sat on the Board of Directors at Cedar Blue for 3 years before deciding he would rather spend more time fishing. During this time, he also helped his electrician brother, Barry, upgrade electrical services for the residents of Cedar Blue.
Cliff was preceded in death by his wonderful parents, Clifford Sr. and Beulah of OKC and sister-in-law Dorothy of Ringold, OK.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 22 years, Kym, sons Alan and wife Jana of Harrah, Chad and wife Janet of Beavercreek, OH; bonus daughter, Ashlee and partner Joseph of Edmond; grandsons, Riley and Jacob; granddaughters, Taylor, Delainey, Heather and Hailey; brothers, Tommy of Ringold, OK and Alvin and wife Terry of Newcastle; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
