Funeral services for Lenola Oneta Billings, better known by all as Oneta, were held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2025 at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Sulphur with Pastors Fred Bailey and Dick Terry officiating. Interment will follow at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur.

Oneta was born January 18, 1937, in Davis, to the late Marvin M. and Evie (Davis) Thomas. She passed from this life on Saturday, Jan.11, 2025, in Sulphur, at the age of 87. Oneta and Terrel Lyndle Billings were united in marriage on June 9, 1956, in Sulphur. He preceded her in death on August 12, 2019.

Oneta, a lifelong resident of Murray County, grew up north of Sulphur, graduating from Stratford High School, Class of 1954. She spent her adult life working as a bank teller in the retail banking business. Her career began in Stratford, prior to working at the First Oklahoma Bank and Trust in Sulphur. Her final years of banking was spent with the Sulphur Community Bank.

Oneta was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was very proud of her beloved family. She enjoyed camping and fishing, especially with her family. She was known for raising a beautiful garden each year. Oneta was a devoted follower of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, faithfully attending the Oak Grove Church.

Survivors include her two sons, Keith Billings and wife Beverly of Sulphur and Randy Billings and wife Lana of Ardmore; six grandchildren, Terry Billings and wife Shay, Josh Billings and wife Suzy, Randal Billings and wife Kaylea, Cali Lewis and husband Buddy, Jessi Pierce and husband Shawn and Judd Bean and wife Beverly; as well as 10 great-grandchildren, Alaura Billings, Jake Billings, Konner Lunsford, Ella Billings, Owen Billings, Adyson Lewis, Bayden Lewis, Lindyn Pierce, Max Bean, and Logan Bean and three greatgreat grandchildren, Kallen Lasiter, Rylan Lasiter, and Rhett Reagle.
