Richard Michael ‘Lucky’ Wiggins

Richard Michael ‘Lucky’Wiggins was cherished and will be missed by those who knew him. The impact his work and art has had on those who encountered it will continue to reverberate over time. As a master craftsman and registered Choctaw Artist, Lucky ensured that his attention to detail and color was precise, while maintaining the overall quality and beauty of the endeavor at hand.

Lucky was born on December 22, 1960 in Sulphur, and lived his life on his own terms for 64 years, one week, and six days, passing on January 4, 2025 in Ada. He was surrounded in love when he transitioned to be with Jack, Zane, and his ancestors. Lucky has been sent off with love and beautiful memories by several siblings, numerous nieces, nephews, and an over-abundance of friends.

Lucky’s enjoyment came from playing music with his nephews and friends, spending time with nieces and family, collecting guitars, building diverse projects, trading unique or antique wares, and creating various types of art. Some of Lucky’s artwork is displayed in both the Choctaw Nation Regional Medical Clinic in Durant, and the Choctaw Nation Rubin White Medical Clinic in Poteau.

Special thanks to the extraordinary and caring staff at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center in Ada, a for their professionalism in making Lucky’s transition one of comfort, kindness, and dignity, while caring for the family members as well.

The family will be holding a virtual Celebration of Life through Zoom. Details can be found at the American Funeral Service website: https://www.americanfuneralservice-fh.com
