Charlene grew up in Mill Creek. After graduating from Mill Creek High School, she continued her education at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, prior to moving to California. While in California, Charlene worked for the Safeway Corporation for several years, prior to returning to Oklahoma. In the mid 1990’s, she and Jack purchased Cornbread’s café in Davis, operating it for a few years before moving to Texas, where she worked as a customer care representative for the US Department of Labor. After she and Jack both retired, they made their home in Davis.
Charlene was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed being with her family as often as she could. She was an active member of the Pathway Methodist Church in Davis, assisting throughout the church wherever she was needed.
Survivors include her daughter, Laura Beth Duty of Davis; her son, Charles Odis Duty and wife Sue of Conway, AR; as well as three grandchildren, Ronny Simmons, Caitlin Duty and Lucas Duty.
In addition to her parents and husband, Charlene was preceded in death by her two brothers, Bob and Jim Ozment.
A memorial service to celebrate Charlene’s life will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, Feb. 14, 2025, at the Pathway Methodist Church, in Davis, with Pastor Steve Wilson officiating.
