Doris T. Drake

Doris T. Drake was born November 20, 1929, to Tommy and Ola Patton, in Springer, Oklahoma. She transitioned to Heaven on April 13, 2024, at the age of 94 years. Doris grew up in Springer, where she attended school and was a member of the graduating class of 1949. She was a member of the Vinita Avenue Church of Christ and will be laid to rest on April 17, 2024 in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Doris and Carl Drake met her senior year in high school and were married June 30, 1949. They were married just shy of 63 years, when he preceded her in death on April 14, 2012. The marriage produced two children, James Shelton Drake and Dorisann Drake Tillery.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; son, James Shelton; as well as her parents; brother, Oris “Red” Patton and sister, Lois Mayes.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Dorisann and husband Ronnie; granddaughter, Lyndsey Ramer and husband Justin; along with her greatest treasures, Brityn and Jace Ramer, or the “Babies” as she called them. She is also survived by brothers, Jim Patton and Bob Patton; along with special son David Shores and wife RuthAnn; Shirley Laxton and husband Terry and Holly Tillery.

Services are “entrusted to” Hale’s Funeral Home of Sulphur.
