Bobby Ray Quinton

Bobby Ray Quinton passed away from this life on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at his home in Ardmore at the age of 87 years, eight months and 18 days. He was born on October 7, 1936 at his Grandpa Brown’s farm in Gibbs Township, OK to James “Monk” and Elizabeth “Lizzie” (Brown) Quinton.

Bobby Ray grew up in this area, attending Roff Schools where he played baseball and basketball and was inducted to the Roff Hall of Fame in 1953 before graduating in 1955. He followed in his father’s footsteps and worked in ranching in his earlier years working for the Blue Valley Ranch in Roff. He eventually left ranching and moved to Ardmore to work at the newly opened Uniroyal Tire Plant, in which he retired after 24 years of service.

Bobby Ray and Rosa (Hodges) Quinton were married on July 1, 1997 in Gainesville, Texas.

Those he leaves to cherish his memories are his wife, Rosa Quinton; sons, Robert, Jerry and Greg; siblings, J.E., Don, Andy and Elizabeth; several grandchildren and two great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Molly; brothers, R.L. and Terry Paul.

Services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024 at the Chapel of Crossway Baptist Church in Sulphur with Reverend Cory Woods officiating. Interment followed at the East Hill Cemetery in Roff under the direction of DeArman Funeral Home in Sulphur.
