Pouring Over New Seed Catalogues Is One Of My Favorite Times
Nothing beats home grown vegies from the backyard garden. My first seed catalog arrived in the mailbox this week. It’s funny how a bunch of papers with pretty, colorful pictures of plants can make a person so happy. Every year I look forward to seeing the new plants being offered. And anyone that knows me, knows it doesn’t matter how many seeds I have left over from last year, I’m still going to buy seeds this year.

Brenda Nell (Barnes) Ringer
Brenda Nell (Barnes) Ringer of Mulhall, Oklahoma, was born May 14, 1948 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma to Leo Eugene Barnes and Geneva Hattie (Boatwright) Barnes. She passed away on Dec. 9, 2023 in her home in Mulhall, Oklahoma, aged 75 years. She married Douglas George Ringer on September 5, 1970 in Sulphur, Oklahoma. Brenda grew up in Sulphur, graduated Sulphur High School and then attended Oklahoma State University majoring in Family Relations and Child Development. She played piano and marched in the Oklahoma State University Marching Band. When she completed her degree and received her teacher’s certificate, she substitute taught school at various schools in central Oklahoma.

Wanda Lou (Mays) Russell was born September 11, 1943, in Chivington, CO, to the late Herman Frederick William and Floy Leona (Brown) Mays. She died on Friday, Dec. 8, in Ardmore, at the age of 80. Wanda and Rocky Russell were united in marriage on April 10, 1962, in Denver, CO. From this union was born two sons, Kennith and Bradley.
