The newly seated City of Sulphur Planning and Zoning Commission members have been busy with meetings this past week.

Public comments, formerly known as public participation, will again appear on Sulphur City Council regular meeting agendas.

Sulphur High School’s annual homecoming activities will be held Friday starting with a pep assembly at Agee Field, followed by the annual parade through Sulphur, and ending with the coronation of the king and queen Friday just prior to the game.

Sulphur’s homecoming parade and pep rally are set for Friday, Oct. 4.The Sulphur Homecoming pep rally will take place at 12:00 noon at Agee Field. The Homecoming parade will begin at 2:00 p.m., followed by the coronation ceremony at 6:30 p.m. just prior to the Sulphur-McLoud game.

Preparations are now complete and the show is ready to go this week, October 3 & 4 as OHCE presents their annual quilt show.

Nearly $2M More Than Last Year

Citizens of Sulphur may soon learn the fate of “Public Participation” at regular monthly council meetings.

The annual Murray County OHCE Quilt Show is scheduled for October 3-4 at the Murray County Expo. This year’s show is titled “A Cornucopia of Quilts” and will feature not only beautiful quilts but many handmade craft and sewn items on display made by the Feature Artists the Piece Makers Quilt Club.

Sulphur Police, Sheriff ’s Office, NPS Rangers Join In Multi-Day Probe

Hundreds of flags of America, Oklahoma and others will be formally retired in a burning ceremony at 3:00 p.m, on Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Murray County Expo in Sulphur. The event is sponsored by the American Legion, which has been an historic leader in honoring the Stars and Stripes.

SULPHUR, Okla. – The Chickasaw Nation, along with Oklahoma Human Services and the Murray County Health Department, hosted Health and Hope on Wheels, a community resource event, Aug. 2, at the Artesian Hotel parking lot.
